Meet The Band                                                     

 

JEFF WARD - lead guitar / vocals

Jeff grew up in Marshfield, MO. He got his first guitar at the age of 7 and played in his first band, Southern Fury, at the age of 14. He played in a few different bands for the next few years until forming Bad Habit in 1993. He has a wide variety of musical styles ranging from hard rock to country. His musical influences are Van Halen, Charlie Daniels and Lynyrd Skynyrd. His hobbies include playing guitar, singing, collecting guitars, golf and various other sports. He resides in Willard, MO.

 

 

 

 

TARA LYNN - vocals / keys

Tara grew up in New Jersey, California and Missouri.   Her first singing performance was at age 7, flute at age 10. She attended the Univ. of Cincinnati, Conservatory of Music for vocal performance, also studying piano & dance.  Moving back to Missouri, she started her own band, Midnight Rodeo, which played all over the US from 1992-1998.  In 1998, she became the opening act for the Statler Brothers touring nationwide, and remained until the Statlers retired in 2002.  Tara co-owned a night club from 2003-2005, which is how she met the Bad Habit Band when they played there, and joined the BHB in August, 2006.  In April, 2006, Tara portrayed the legendary Patsy Cline in the Springfield Little Theatre's production of "Always...Patsy Cline." Her musical influences include Journey, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride and Harry Chapin, among others. Her hobbies include trail riding on her mule, Thor, Jazzercise and the building web sites.  She currently resides somewhere in southwest Missouri. DARREN MATTHEWS - drums / vocals

Originally from Tulsa, OK, Darren has been in a number of bands and played a wide range of music styles.  His skills on drums and vocals, along with his keen sense of humor alone are enough to come see a BHB show!  He resides in Hollister, MO.

 

 

 

 

TIM HULL -  guitar / vocals

Tim moved to Republic, Mo in 1977.  The son of a Baptist preacher, he feels he grew up with a mic in his hand. He got his first guitar at the age of 12 and his first mandolin at 14.  Besides singing in church, his first "gig" was with the blue grass group River Rats at the age of 15.  After high school, he served his country with the United States Marine Corps.  In the 90's he toured the country with the Windwalker band.  While on the road, he opened for such acts as Mark Chestnut and Sawyer Brown.  He also opened for Ray Price at the Riverside Casino in Laughlin, Nevada.  He played with BHB from '96-'04.  After a short break, he is back!!  Besides BHB he also sings southern gospel with the Trinity Trio. He has been influenced by many artist in different styles of music such as blue grass, jazz, swing, country, classic rock. His hobbies include:  clowning, hunting, 4-wheelin', and currently holds the World Championship Title in Competition Speed Tiddly Winks. 
 

 

STEVE LEACH - bass / vocals

From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Steve is new in town!  He's a seasoned musician, and has played a wide variety of music. His musicianship and Journey-like vocals are a welcomed addition to the BHB!  He resides in Branson, MO.

The Bad Habit Band would like to thank Larry Hastings for several years of dedication to the band.  He's been called away on business to another state, and can not perform with the band any longer. Good luck to you! You will be missed!!

 

 

 

 

Big thanks to Ron Hill for sharing his talent with the Bad Habit Band  for a while in 2006/2007...we'll miss ya! Enjoy your new adventures!
